Inside & outside original looking '76 Fiesta S. Under the hood there will be a std 1.4 '87 75hp CVH and 4 speed gearbox with 3.84 final drive ratio (normal 1.4) for now. (Engine done, interior quite ready)

I'm thinking about making white dials with perhaps a 'intel inside' -style 'CVH Inside' -logo, but not sure about that. Would be a nice detail, but when it comes to originality.. (Most likely not)

I was going to find those Ford original 12" aluminium rimms, but the upcoming brakemods require using 13" wheels. Have to find some 70's or early 80's wheels. (Done)

Gonna register it straight to 1.6 CVH, so there will be no hassle when I get my hands on one. (Spring '03)

Things to do

I've had the car for a week now (18.2), and the 1.1 OVH -> 1.4 CVH project is the first thing to do. I think it's half done at the moment. You can check on that on the diary. (Done)

Improving the brakes. This includes 54mm calipers on front (Sierra should fit almost bolt-on), 239 vented discs (Escort mk5), 20.64mm rear cyliders (From a Sierra, will fit almost bolt-on. Same size as Mk2 XR2, Mk1 XR2 has only 19.05mm), Mk1 XR2 main cylinder. With these mods the brakes will be 1:1 with Mk2 XR2, and a little bit more than Mk1 Xr2. (Done)

Have to fix the panhard rod mounting on the chassis. PHOTO

The (original) front seats are terrible, have to change them. I have seats from a '85 Escort LX which I will use for now, but because they don't really belong to this car, I'll have to find something else. I already know a pair of 1.3S '80 front seats, but can't afford them right now. When I get those, I'm going to order new seat covers. Propably plain black. One idea would be having someone to do the original white/yellow(/blue?!) stripes to them sometime :-) (Done, even better imo)

The dashboard is in bad shape. It's cracked like all these better dashes that I know of/have seen. Any DIY -ideas on that? Help would really be appreciated. Contact me with that 'Get in touch' -link on the left. (Spring '03) PHOTO1, PHOTO 2
