The head unit is what's shown above, and it's marvellous! It has all basic functions like hi-power amp, RDS and all it's functions, bal/tre/loud etc etc. But it has some very nice functions you can't find in every other car stereo. The display is huge and it's surrounded with 8 buttons that function differently depending of the situation.

There can be many different functions on the buttons, radiostation names that are stored, CD's that are in the changer (2 pages, 6/4 names), BASS/TRE/LOUD/BAL etc adjustings are selected with the help of the display, CD and RADIO functions (MIX, REPEAT etc for CD, RDS options for radio) are used this way and so on.

There's also a pretty good EQ included in the stereo, it has 7 freq's (64, 160, 400, 1000, 2500, 6250 and 15600hz) that can be adjusted and 3 separate settings can be saved into memory. There are also 5 pre-set adjustments that can't be changed. The EQ can be set differently for left and right channels. This thing also has a microphone which can be used to leave the stereo automatically set the EQ but I don't find it very usefull since it seems to make the sound even more terrible. The mic is also used if the 'automatic noiselevel sensing' (DNC) is turned on, and the stereo tries it's best to adjust the volume depending on the driving noise. I don't know how this works with normal stereo+speakers system but in my system it's not very usefull. Seems to be either too sensitive or not sensitive enough, that leading to the situation that it's does not 'work at all' or it turns the volume much to much. Funniest 'bug' in this system is when I put that DNC on and adjust everything in a certain way, this thing turns the volume up a bit, then it notices that the noiselevel has raised -> turns more volume -> noiselevel raises -> more volume etc etc :-) But a while ago a magazine tested this stereo and they found this DNC to be quite decent, so guess it's just my installation .. Or something ..
